917 Million Reasons Why VCs Are Betting Big on Decentralized AI

Venture capitalists have poured $917 million into decentralized AI. This investment aims to challenge the centralized data ownership of tech giants like Alphabet and Amazon. The integration of AI and blockchain seeks to decentralize data access and ownership. Blockchain investment company Theta Capital views AI x crypto as the future backbone of AI. Hack VC has allocated 41% of its latest fund to Web3 AI, seeing it as the biggest source of alpha in investing today. Decentralized AI could offer solutions to issues like spam and data scraping. It also presents new opportunities in financial markets. However, it carries risks such as the proliferation of undesirable online content. Some VCs believe blockchain can mitigate these risks through mechanisms like proof-of-humanity and micropayments.

Venture model isn’t broken, it’s shifted.Funds that derive power and influence from size, LPs that are farming yield at 3-6% vs. 20% IRR, and companies that are hungry-hungry capital hippos = The Unholy Trinity of Venture CapitalThose are the loudest models on the field.
