The Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) is expanding into China for the 2025 season, introducing a dedicated Chinese region. The competition will start with Stage One, joining other regions like Asia, EMEA, and North America. The first live event, Champions Clash, will occur in Hangzhou, China, featuring eight teams with two from each region qualifying. This expansion aligns with Overwatch 2’s server relaunch in China, set for February 19th after a technical test in January. The OWCS 2025 will also include three international events, with the Midseason Championship at the Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia and the World Finals at DreamHack in Stockholm, Sweden. ESL FACEIT Group has introduced promotion and relegation, a three-split competitive circuit, and a Partner Program for teams, where nine teams will share proceeds from in-game team packs.
