A recent study reveals that 75% of educators have used artificial intelligence (AI) tools in their classrooms, despite concerns about cheating and bias. The National Academy for AI Instruction, a $23 million initiative led by OpenAI, Microsoft, and Anthropic, aims to train teachers on using AI for teaching and tasks starting this fall.
According to the study, 60% of educators reported using AI-powered grading tools, while 45% used AI-driven learning platforms. However, only 25% of educators felt confident in their ability to detect AI-generated content. The study also found that 40% of educators believed AI had improved student outcomes, while 30% thought it had no impact.
The initiative aims to address concerns about AI’s potential impact on education by providing teachers with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively integrate AI into their teaching practices.
