700 Billion Gameplays/Month: The Untapped Web Game Market Exploding With Opportunity

The web game market is vast and largely untapped, with platforms like Poki boasting 30 million monthly active users and 700 billion gameplays per month. Crazy Games reports similar engagement with 30 million monthly active users and 300 million games played monthly. This market extends beyond top-tier platforms to include middle-tier sites like Y8, Kongregate, and Newgrounds, as well as aggregators such as GameMonetize, GamePix, and GameDistribution, the latter of which connects over 2000 web publishers. In 2021, 1.88 billion websites were launched, many of which utilize games to revitalize user bases and increase ad revenue. Social media, chat, and streaming platforms are also integrating games, facilitated by HTML5 technology. Competition in the web game space includes popular titles like Monkey Mart with 300 million plays, Level Devil with 83 million plays, Stickman Hook with 574 million plays, and Subway Surfers with 1 billion plays. Developers can choose to self-distribute, work with publishers who typically take a 70% cut, or use new platforms like Playgama.com to reach thousands of distributors worldwide.

Oh!! CT gets it mostly wrong. Do you really think traditional games are built behind closed doors? You might be wrong. Not sure how many Web2 games yu all have seen blow up without marketing, just off the back of community hype. But a lot of them did. Especially indie games.
