The remains of all 67 victims from the tragic midair collision between an American Airlines regional jet and an Army Black Hawk helicopter have been recovered. The incident, which occurred over the Potomac River, claimed the lives of 64 passengers and crew on the plane and three military personnel on the helicopter. So far, 66 of the victims have been identified. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the crash, focusing on the altitude of both aircraft at the time of impact. The helicopter was reportedly at 300 feet, exceeding the 200-foot limit set by the Federal Aviation Administration. The NTSB has retrieved data recorders from both aircraft and is analyzing cockpit voice recordings. The collision, the deadliest U.S. air crash since 2001, has led to an indefinite flight restriction for helicopters near the airport. American Airlines has mobilized its CARE Team to support affected families.
