Despite its success, ESI faces challenges like high traffic and integration issues with newer systems like Quasar. Efforts are underway to improve ESI’s performance, including transitioning to a Data Hub for read requests, enhancing observability, and implementing a token-based rate limiter to manage load more effectively. Future updates include new endpoints for corporation projects, sovereignty tracking, and SKINR integration, aiming to make ESI more robust and scalable.
