EVE Online’s FPS Boost: Up to 52% Performance Increase!

EVE Online’s rendering engine, Trinity, is set for a major update in March. This update, part of the EVE Evolved initiative, introduces a GPU Driven Pipeline, shifting more rendering work from the CPU to the GPU. This change promises significant performance improvements, with some systems seeing up to a 52% increase in FPS. The update aims to address the game’s unique challenges, from rendering small dungeons to massive fleet battles involving thousands of players. Testing with EVE Probe, a tool designed for isolated performance testing, showed that at 4k resolution, the AMD 6800XT GPU experienced a massive performance boost. On macOS, particularly with Apple’s M1 chip, performance at lower resolutions like 1920 x 1200 can increase by 25%. This update not only enhances gameplay fluidity but also simplifies future graphical enhancements.
