The prevalence of the issue has led the SEC and other major conferences to mandate the use of ProhiBet. A notable case in Texas saw the technology identify five individuals, including two football players, who wagered nearly $15,000 on PrizePicks. Additionally, one in three athletes in heavily bet-on sports report receiving threats or intimidation. NCAA President Charlie Baker aims to ban prop bets due to increased harassment. While the NCAA actively uses monitoring tools, eSports struggles with similar issues but lacks a unified governing body to ensure integrity.
