The Baltimore Orioles General Manager Mike Elias is considering trading up to 11 players, including Ryan O’Hearn, as the team’s playoff odds have dropped significantly. Meanwhile, the Atlanta Braves are struggling, sitting 8 games under .500 with a mere 23% chance of making the playoffs.
On the bright side, New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz has been excelling in the ninth inning, and pitcher Zack Kelly boasts an impressive 2.83 ERA and more strikeouts than innings pitched since 2023. Additionally, Seattle Mariners’ Cal Raleigh has hit one-third of the team’s home runs this season.
The Washington Nationals are also looking to make moves, potentially trading Kyle Finnegan, Amed Rosario, or Ian Soroka (who sports a 4.70 ERA) for pitching depth. On the other hand, Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr.’s value has taken a hit due to his poor performance (.185/.270/.313).

#Sfgiants #dbacks and #padres all lost weekend series. A month ago, everyone said the NL west was the best division in baseball. Now almost to July, the dodgers run away with and no other team in the NL west has a play off spot.Crazy how a month of a baseball changes things.

Do you guys remember when everyone was talking about how good the NL West is and how it was gonna be a bloodbath and how all the teams are playoff contenders? As of today, outside of the Dodgers, none of them are playoff teams.

This is the first time I really feel like they will not make the playoffs. I don’t think there is remotely enough that Stearns can do at this deadline to fix what is broken here. Unbelievable. If they don’t get swept by the Brewers, I would be genuinely stunned.

The bottom 14 teams in the league have a combined expected value of 1.0 of making the playoffsIn other words, we expect an average of 1 of these teams (as little as 0 and reasonably as high as 2) of making the playoffshttps://fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-odds/fg/mlb…

So with the Schwellenback injury news, now we can acknowledge now that the #Braves chances of making that playoffs are essentially zero? This season just keeps getting worse …
