20+ Automakers Harness Nvidia’s Tech: GM Joins the AI Revolution!

General Motors has entered a strategic collaboration with Nvidia to enhance its next-generation vehicles, advanced driver-assistance systems, and factory operations. The partnership includes the use of Nvidia’s “Omniverse with Cosmos” for optimizing GM’s factory planning and robotics. Additionally, GM will implement “Nvidia Drive AGX” for in-vehicle hardware to improve safety and driving experiences. Nvidia’s Omniverse, which facilitates industrial digitalization, is licensed at $4,500 per GPU per year. Although the exact number of GPUs GM will require remains undisclosed, the complexity of modern assembly plants suggests a significant quantity. Over 20 other automakers, including Mercedes Benz, Volvo, Audi, Volkswagen, and BYD, have already integrated Nvidia’s “system on a chip” hardware into their vehicles. This collaboration marks a significant step in the automotive industry’s adoption of AI and advanced computing technologies.
