11th Time’s the Charm: Mike Evans Ties NFL Record

Tampa Bay Buccaneers clinched their fourth consecutive NFC South title with a 27-19 victory over the New Orleans Saints. Baker Mayfield was instrumental, throwing for 212 yards and two touchdowns, and rushing for a career-high 68 yards. His 32-yard touchdown pass to Jalen McMillan and a 28-yard scramble were key plays. Mike Evans caught a 9-yard pass on the game’s final play, surpassing 1,000 receiving yards for the 11th straight season, tying Jerry Rice’s NFL record. Evans also earned a $3 million escalator for reaching this milestone. Rookie Spencer Rattler of the Saints threw for 240 yards and one touchdown. The Buccaneers overcame a 10-point halftime deficit, a feat not accomplished by a team clinching a playoff spot in their final game since 2013. The win secured Tampa Bay’s fifth straight playoff appearance.
