This trade has significantly altered the NBA betting market, with the Lakers’ odds to win the NBA title improving from 40-1 to 16-1. Meanwhile, the Mavericks’ odds dropped from 25-1 to 40-1 before settling at 33-1. Luka Doncic, who has averaged 28.6 points per game in his career, was not informed of the trade beforehand. Anthony Davis, averaging 25.7 points and 11.9 rebounds this season, was also unaware of the deal until it was announced.
