December Jobs Report: Expect Lower Than Average Growth

In October, employment saw a modest increase of 36,000 jobs, largely due to the impact of strikes and hurricanes. However, November showed a significant rebound with 227,000 jobs added as the strikes concluded. Over the six months before October, the average monthly job gain was around 150,000. This figure likely represents the current trend in employment growth. Looking ahead, experts predict that December’s job growth might fall short of expectations.
