Coca-Cola’s Sales Surge by 6% Despite Global Challenges

Coca-Cola’s shares rose over 3% in premarket trading after the company reported a 6% increase in net sales for the quarter ending December 31. The company’s net income was $2.20 billion, or 51 cents per share, up from $1.97 billion, or 46 cents per share, the previous year. Adjusted earnings were 55 cents per share. Organic revenue, which excludes acquisitions, divestitures, and currency fluctuations, grew by 14%, driven by a 9% increase in pricing, with 4% from hyperinflation markets. Despite global economic challenges, unit case volume grew by 2%, reversing last quarter’s decline. This growth was attributed to increased demand in China, Brazil, and the U.S. The sparkling soft drinks segment saw a 2% volume increase, with Coke Zero Sugar leading with a 13% rise. However, not all segments thrived; juice, value-added dairy, and plant-based beverages saw a 1% volume drop. Looking ahead, Coca-Cola projects a 5% to 6% organic revenue growth by 2025, with earnings per share expected to increase by 2% to 3%.
