Bitcoin and the CoinDesk 20 (CD20) index, which tracks the largest digital assets, saw significant growth in the Year of the Dragon. Bitcoin increased by 137%, while the CD20 rose by 128%. This surge was largely attributed to the U.S. presidential election in November, aligning with predictions of market volatility followed by a rally. However, Ethereum (ETH) did not perform as expected, only gaining 35% despite anticipated upgrades and ETF launches. Looking ahead to the Year of the Snake, CLSA, a Hong Kong brokerage, forecasts a year of unpredictable market movements. The year starts with cautious optimism, followed by volatility in spring, a potential surge mid-year, stagnation in summer, minor setbacks in autumn, and a steady rise towards the end. Despite these predictions, CLSA advises seeking professional financial advice over astrological guidance.
