70% of Americans Unaware: Congress, Not President, Holds Tariff Power

According to recent surveys, a surprising 70% of Americans are unaware that the U.S. Constitution grants the authority to impose tariffs to Congress, not the President. This statistic highlights a significant gap in public understanding of governmental powers. The Constitution clearly delineates this responsibility, yet many believe the President has the authority to levy tariffs independently. This misconception persists despite the clear legal framework established by the founding document. Understanding these statistics is crucial for informed public discourse on trade policies and governmental roles.

The crazy part (and what most people don’t realize) is that the power to enact tariffs is supposed to lie with Congress. But Trump invented a bogus “emergency” to steal that power from them. ..and Congress just let him. Because we live in the dumbest of times.

Not one damned one of them in Congress have 1-cent worth the knowledge @POTUS has with regard to tariffs and what this Country needs to get out of the hole we are in. THEY HELPED TO PUT US HERE, by passing budgets without reading them, now let the President do this.
