Metaplanet, a Japanese hotel company, reported a remarkable 95.6% BTC yield in the first quarter of 2025. The company kicked off the second quarter by acquiring an additional 160 BTC at an average price of 12.5 million yen, or about $83,600 per BTC. This latest purchase totaled 1.998 billion yen, equivalent to $13.4 million. With this acquisition, Metaplanet’s total bitcoin holdings now stand at 4,206 BTC. These were bought at an average price of 12.9 million yen, or approximately $86,500 per BTC, with a cumulative investment of 54.3 billion yen, or $363.5 million. In the second quarter so far, Metaplanet has achieved a 3.9% BTC yield. The BTC yield is calculated as the change in the ratio of total bitcoin holdings to the fully diluted shares outstanding over a given period. On Tuesday, Metaplanet’s Tokyo-listed shares closed down 1.22% at 404 yen.
