8 Nominations for Baby Reindeer: A Statistical Breakdown of BAFTA TV Awards

Baby Reindeer led the pack with eight nominations at the BAFTA Television Awards. Mr Bates vs The Post Office followed closely with six nominations. Slow Horses also secured six nominations, including a notable nod for Gary Oldman in the Leading Actor category. Disney+ had a record year, earning 15 nominations, while Netflix topped the list with 26 nominations, and Apple TV+ received 13. The Day of the Jackal, despite its renewal for a second season, did not receive any main award nominations, only managing nods in the Craft Awards for editing and production design. Amazon Prime Video’s Clarksons Farm, a viewer favorite, surprisingly received zero nominations. Mark Rylance, typically a BAFTA favorite, missed out on a nomination for Wolf Hall Season 2, though his co-star Damian Lewis was nominated for Supporting Actor. Netflix’s Supacell, renewed for a second season, secured a spot in the Drama Series category but no other nominations. Nabhaan Rizwan earned a nomination for best Male Performance in a Comedy for Kaos, despite the show’s cancellation. The BAFTA Television Awards, hosted by Alan Cumming, will take place on May 11 and be broadcast on the BBC in the UK and BritBox in the U.S.
