In Georgetown, Texas, the world’s largest 3D-printed community has emerged. Lennar, the nation’s second-largest homebuilder, and Icon, a 3D technology company, collaborated to construct 100 homes in the Wolf Ranch development. About 75% of these homes have already been sold. The homes, which start at just under $400,000, come in 2- and 3-bedroom models and feature all the amenities of a conventionally built Lennar community. Each home is solar-powered, with an electric bill as low as $26 per month reported by one resident. The project began in 2022 with two 40-foot robotic printers, expanding to 11 machines by the second year, which allowed the production of two homes per week. The cost to build these homes has decreased by half, and the construction time has also been halved. Encouraged by their success, Lennar and Icon are planning a second development in Texas, aiming to build 200 larger homes at an even lower cost.

I’ve lived in both and from Chicago. I agree with Jim Jones. The Largest complex of housing projects in the WORLD was in Chicago before they got torn down. Imagine the whole population of Bogalusa Louisiana in one housing complex….what are we even debating..
