75% of Samizdat Prize Attendees Can’t Afford Tickets

RealClearPolitics, a platform known for its commitment to viewpoint diversity, is hosting the Samizdat Prize Gala on February 5 in Palm Beach, Florida. This event celebrates journalism that adheres to traditional standards of fairness, accuracy, and nonpartisanship. The gala will award three prizes, each worth $25,000, totaling $75,000 in funds to be raised. Notably, half of the attendees are attending based on merit, unable to afford the ticket price. RealClearPolitics has faced challenges such as advertising blacklisting, Wikipedia ghosting, and criticism from major media outlets like the New York Times, especially around election times when their polling averages were more accurate than those of the Times. Despite these obstacles, RealClearPolitics remains steadfast in its mission, refusing to compromise its editorial independence. The event not only honors courageous journalism but also serves as a pushback against censorship.
