51 Out of 368: BlackRock Joins Elite Group on UK’s Crypto Register

BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, has secured a spot on the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority’s crypto register. This achievement is notable as the UK has received 368 applications for the register, but only 51 firms have been approved. The register, established in 2020, ensures that crypto firms comply with the UK’s anti-money laundering regulations before serving clients. As an approved arranger, BlackRock can facilitate transactions in cryptoassets for iShares Digital Assets AG’s Exchange Traded Products. However, they are restricted from onboarding new customers or operating automated crypto-to-money exchange machines without regulatory consent. This registration places BlackRock alongside other notable firms like Coinbase on the register.
