A recent survey reveals that 50% of Americans believe the story of Paul Revere’s Ride is a myth. This legendary event, along with the Battles of Lexington and Concord, has been part of American history for centuries. Despite its historical significance, half of the population questions its authenticity. The survey highlights a divide in public perception of historical events. These findings underscore the importance of education and the preservation of historical narratives. As time passes, the line between fact and fiction can blur, affecting how historical events are remembered and taught.

1/ On the night of April 18, 1775, a silversmith named Paul Revere set off on one of the most iconic rides in American history. His mission: warn the colonies that British troops were on the move. But the real story is far more dramatic鈥攁nd complex.

Sybil Ludington existed, but she never rode with Paul Revere. Isaac Brissell made the ride she is credited with. Her nephew made up an elaborate story and sold it to of feminist group in the 1800s. This is revisionist history which you all must unlearn immediately.
