In 2024, renewable energy sources achieved a record high, accounting for 32% of global electricity. This significant milestone highlights the growing impact of sustainable energy solutions worldwide. Additionally, the year saw legal efforts to compel governments to take stronger action against climate change. In other news, a baby was born in the UK to a woman with a transplanted womb, marking a medical breakthrough. The US continues to lead in the AI race, though the high costs of training AI models remain a challenge. Meanwhile, the spread of bird flu in wildlife remains poorly understood, as evidenced by the deaths of two cougars. These statistics and developments underscore the dynamic shifts in technology and environmental science.
