“$192M Global Launch for Captain America: Brave New World”

Captain America: Brave New World soared to a $192.4M global launch, with $92.4M coming from 52 international markets. The film’s international opening was 4% ahead of Captain America: The Winter Soldier in similar markets, excluding China. The top markets included China ($10.5M), UK ($8.5M), Mexico ($6.6M), Korea ($5.6M), and France ($4.7M). The Imax global opening was $18M. Meanwhile, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy charmed audiences internationally, earning $35.5M in 70 markets. It set records as the biggest romcom opening ever in like-for-like markets, surpassing Sex and the City 2. The UK saw the highest opening for a romantic comedy with $14.8M, and it was the biggest opening for a Working Title film. In Australia, it grossed $3.4M, the largest romcom opening since the start of the pandemic. Ne Zha 2 in China has now reached $1.63B, becoming the highest-grossing Imax title in China with $104M.
