Ram Trucks will introduce an industry-leading warranty for its 2026 lineup. The warranty covers key components like the engine and transmission for 10 years or 100,000 miles. This replaces the current five-year or 60,000-mile warranty, which is standard in the industry. The new warranty aims to address the rising cost of vehicles. Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis noted that 85% of truck buyers finance for seven years or more and keep their trucks for 12 years. Edmunds.com reports that 19.8% of new car buyers took out 84-month loans in the first quarter, while 67.4% opted for loans between 60 and 75 months. The extended warranty applies to original owners of 2026 Ram trucks and vans, including retail and lease purchases, but excludes fleet purchases and the Ram Promaster electric van. Ram’s sales have declined by about 38% since 2019. Competitors like Ford, GM, and Toyota offer a five-year or 60,000-mile warranty on their gas-powered full-size pickup trucks.
