Team Liquid’s journey in First Stand 2025 ended abruptly in the Round Robin Stage with a record of one win and three consecutive losses. This early exit has raised questions about the strength of North America in the League of Legends esports scene. Despite the setback, Sean Yeon Sung from Team Liquid remains optimistic, asserting that their performance does not reflect the region’s overall capability. He believes that North America’s top three to four teams are competitive on the international stage. Team Liquid’s defeat allowed Chinese team Top Esports to secure fourth place, while French team Karmine Corp advanced to third after an initial loss to Team Liquid. Taiwanese team CBTC Flying Oyster holds second place, trailing behind Korea’s Hanwha Life Esports, the current favorites. Over the past six months, North American teams have struggled internationally, with Team Liquid and FlyQuest failing to advance from the Swiss stage at the 2024 World Championship. These statistics highlight the challenges faced by NA teams in global competitions.

It’s legitimately amazing how few games Liquid wins considering some of the players they have.

What a performance by liquid once again. 3 tiers won in the last 4, with 1 loss that was a matter of 1% (fyrakk). Built different. Kinda sad to see race end like that though, the outcome was 95% not gonna change but to me any end boss sub 200 just doesn’t feel as epic. Gg

0-2 and we’re out of ESL Pro League Playoffs despite two maps with close middle rounds and near clutches.
