According to recent reports, President Trump claims to have a deal in place that would allow TikTok to continue operating in the United States without compromising national security concerns. The proposed agreement may be launched as early as September, pending China’s approval. Interestingly, Trump is not entirely confident that China will agree to the terms, but believes they will.
The US and China have recently reached a trade war truce, although tensions between the two nations remain high. In a separate development, Trump has threatened to impose a 10% import tax on countries that align with China’s interests.
While some questions surrounding the deal remain unanswered, such as fentanyl trafficking and US exporters’ access to Chinese markets, the statistics are what truly stand out.
