Warriors’ Record Dips Below .500 for First Time This Season

The Golden State Warriors have fallen below .500 for the first time this season, now standing at 19-20 after a 104-101 loss to the Toronto Raptors. Despite the team’s recent struggles, Stephen Curry, the star guard, has urged caution against making “desperate” moves that could jeopardize the franchise’s future. Since a promising 12-3 start, the Warriors have lost 17 of their last 24 games. Curry, along with coach Steve Kerr, general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr., and forward Draymond Green, have consistently advocated for patience and strategic decision-making, especially regarding trades that might involve young players or draft picks. The team’s latest defeat came against a Raptors team with a 9-31 record, despite Golden State leading by nine points late in the game. The Warriors missed their final five shots, including three 3-point attempts in the last 44.7 seconds. Curry finished with 26 points, 7 assists, and 7 rebounds, but the team’s overall performance has been described as “mid” by Curry himself.
