It operates with various independent agents to perform a wide range of tasks autonomously. Despite the buzz, access remains limited, with less than 1% of waitlist users receiving an invite code. Manus’s Discord channel boasts over 186,000 members, indicating high interest. In testing, Manus showed promise but faced challenges, such as accessing paywalled content and occasional system instability. It completed tasks like compiling a list of 30 journalists and searching for New York City apartments within specific criteria. However, a larger task of nominating 50 candidates for Innovators Under 35 took three hours to yield only three full profiles. Manus’s per-task cost is approximately $2, significantly lower than the $20 cost of ChatGPT DeepResearch.
