30 Points, 7 Assists, 6 Rebounds: Flagg’s Historic NCAA Performance

Cooper Flagg delivered a standout performance, scoring 30 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, and dishing out 7 assists in Duke’s 100-93 victory over Arizona in the Sweet 16. This game marked Flagg as the first Duke player since 1984 to achieve 30 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in an NCAA tournament game. Additionally, he became only the second player since 1986 to record at least 30 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 blocks in a tournament game, joining UCLA’s Ed O’Bannon from 1994. Flagg also matched Chris Mullin’s 1985 feat of achieving 30-5-5 with one or fewer turnovers. Duke advanced to face Alabama in the Elite Eight. In the game, Duke shot an impressive 60% from the field, 58% from three-point range, and 85% from the free-throw line, marking their fifth 100-point game of the season.
