Statistics reveal that 39% of child stars experience bullying. Michelle Trachtenberg, known for her role in “Harriet the Spy,” was one such victim. Her friend, Mara Wilson, shared that Trachtenberg confided in her about being bullied at their middle school in Burbank, California. Classmates called her derogatory names like “Harriet the Bitch” and “Harriet the Bitchy Spy.” Trachtenberg’s composed and confident demeanor was misinterpreted as meanness, leading to further bullying. This situation highlights the challenges child actors face in pleasing others while dealing with personal struggles. Trachtenberg passed away at the age of 39 on February 26 in her New York City apartment. Her cause of death remains undetermined due to her family’s objection to an autopsy.

it breaks my heart to know that she has to speak about this just so people will stop mocking her, and the worst part is that it has been like this since the beginning of her career, attacking her since she was a child, without any consideration
