Hong Kong’s Wealth Visa: 750+ Applicants Use Bitcoin and Ether to Prove Assets

Hong Kong’s New Capital Investment Entrant Scheme visa, which requires applicants to prove ownership of net assets worth at least HK$30 million ($3.8 million), now accepts bitcoin (BTC) and ether (ETH) as proof of wealth. A chartered public accountant must validate the valuation report. Over 750 applicants have applied for this visa. However, once approved, the visa holders must invest another HK$30 million in permissible assets, excluding cryptocurrencies. Hong Kong has 9 licensed crypto exchanges.
