One Byte of Data Hidden in Every Emoji: Here’s How!

In a clever demonstration, Paul Butler shows how to encode data within emojis. Unicode characters, including emojis, can carry hidden data through variation selectors. These selectors, like U+FE01 (VS-2), are preserved during transformations, allowing one byte of data to be embedded in any Unicode character. This method leverages the 256 possible variations to represent a single byte. Meanwhile, China has adjusted its retirement age to 63 for men and 55 for women, yet it remains lower than many other countries. Additionally, a simulation estimates seating times at restaurants, and data from the National Center for Health Statistics reveals insights into work life based on education, income, work hours, and commute.
