$1 Million Refunded to 6,764 Consumers for Misleading Razer Zephyr Masks

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is distributing over $1 million in refunds to 6,764 consumers who bought Razer Zephyr masks. These masks were falsely advertised as providing N95-level protection during the COVID-19 crisis. Razer agreed to a $100,000 fine and contributed $1,071,254.33 to a consumer relief fund. The FTC is sending checks and PayPal payments to affected buyers. Consumers must cash their checks within 90 days or redeem PayPal payments within 30 days. The Zephyr mask, priced at $100, included three sets of filters, each lasting three days. A $150 version came with 33 sets of filters. Additional filters were available for $30 for 10 sets. The mask was sold for a few months until January 2022, with filters sold until July 2022.
