This surge is attributed to the launch of a new 100-megawatt hydro-powered site in Paraguay. The company aims to reach 25 EH/s by the end of 2025. In May, HIVE mined 139 bitcoins, averaging 4.5 BTC per day. The peak capacity reached 10.4 EH/s, while the average hashrate for the month was 8.5 EH/s. HIVE maintains a fleet efficiency of about 20 joules per terahash (J/TH) and now holds over 1% of the global Bitcoin mining power. The company plans to increase its capacity to 18 EH/s by summer and aims for a daily BTC output exceeding 12 by the fourth quarter, with a potential production cost below $50,000 per coin. HIVE operates facilities in Canada, Sweden, and Paraguay, all powered by hydroelectricity.
