In a stunning turn of events, Houston defeated Duke 70-67 in the Final Four, overcoming a 14-point deficit with 8:17 left in the game. Despite Duke’s 95.5% win probability after a crucial 3-pointer by Cooper Flagg with 3:03 remaining, Houston’s resilience prevailed. The Cougars’ victory was sealed by a chaotic ending involving a missed jumper and foul by Flagg, and a last-second heave by Tyrese Proctor that fell short. Key plays included a crucial turnover by Duke with 31.8 seconds left, a dunk by Joseph Tugler, and clutch free throws by J’Wan Roberts and L.J. Cryer. Houston’s toughness, honed through intense off-season workouts and a rigorous free-throw regimen, was instrumental in their comeback. The Cougars have lost only one game since November 30, showcasing their defensive prowess and mental fortitude.

Man, games like that are exactly why I love sports so much. Houston was down and out, or so it seemed, trailing on the scoreboard, fumbling a bit in those last few minutes. But they didn’t throw in the towel. They kept pushing, kept believing, and somehow pulled off a miracle,

I usually don’t love picking the team seemingly every major analyst and 75% of bettors is on…but I can’t imagine picking Houston to win this game straight up. I’ve hedged in the form of alt-spreads for the Cougars, but I can’t even conceive of them winning this game. Thoughts?

There is always a point in time within a game where you know you lost your bet, Houston +5.5 officially lost with 11 minutes left in the 1H when Juwan Roberts missed a wide open layup on the fast break… Houston known for being tough looks scared, actually scared to be out there
