A recent survey by MIT Technology Review Insights reveals that 87% of business leaders consider responsible AI a high or medium priority for their organizations. This emphasis on responsible AI stems from its potential to create a competitive advantage, with 76% of respondents agreeing. However, despite this recognition, only 15% of those surveyed feel highly prepared to implement effective responsible AI practices. The survey, which included 250 business leaders, highlights a significant gap between the perceived importance of responsible AI and the readiness to put it into practice. Key practices for implementing responsible AI include cataloging AI models and data, implementing governance controls, conducting rigorous assessments, testing, and audits for risk, security, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, companies are encouraged to train employees at scale and make responsible AI a leadership priority to ensure lasting change.
