Nintendo has postponed pre-orders for the Switch 2 in the U.S. The console, priced at $449, was set to begin pre-orders on April 9, 2025. However, due to tariffs and market conditions, the company has delayed this until further notice. The launch date remains June 5, 2025. The decision follows the announcement of new tariffs, with Japan facing a 24% tariff and production hubs in Vietnam and Cambodia hit with 46% and 49% tariffs respectively. These tariffs are part of a broader U.S. policy imposing rates from 10% to 50%. Amidst these changes, the price of first-party software like Mario Kart World is set at $80, though a launch bundle will reduce this by $30.
