El Salvador’s Bitcoin Education: 100% Job Placement Rate for Graduates

El Salvador has made significant strides in Bitcoin education since making it legal tender in 2021. The country has established a Bitcoin reserve worth $630 million and has one of the world’s most advanced crypto regulatory frameworks. Stacy Herbert, director of El Salvador’s Bitcoin Office, highlights the success of their Bitcoin-centric education program. This initiative has not only created a tech vibe in San Salvador but also ensures that graduates find ample job opportunities, with 100% of the inaugural year’s students securing employment. These graduates earn close to $4,000 a month, significantly higher than the average starting salary of $600 for computer science graduates in 2023. The program, which started in five high schools, has now expanded nationwide, teaching students about Bitcoin, Lightning Network nodes, and ASICs. Additionally, 80,000 civil servants have completed Bitcoin certification courses, and a new AI and robotics curriculum is being introduced in schools from first to ninth grade.
