80% of Cardano Nodes Upgraded for Major Governance Shift

Cardano, a proof-of-stake blockchain, is set to undergo a significant transformation with the Plomin hard fork. This upgrade will transition Cardano to full decentralized governance, allowing ADA holders to vote on crucial aspects like parameter changes, treasury withdrawals, and future hard forks. The Cardano Foundation announced that the hard fork will take effect later Wednesday. Currently, Cardano’s ADA token is trading at 93 cents, marking a 1.4% increase. A hard fork, which is a non-backwards compatible change, requires Stake Pool Operators to upgrade their nodes and approve the upgrade with at least a 51% vote. Impressively, nearly 80% of nodes had already upgraded to the new version as of last week.
