1 in 5 Data Science and Machine Learning Engineers Struggling to Find Jobs

A recent analysis reveals that a significant proportion of data science and machine learning (DS/ML) engineers are facing difficulties finding employment, with post-grad degree holders being particularly affected. According to the findings, nearly one-fifth (19%) of DS/ML engineers in the UK and US are struggling to secure jobs, highlighting a concerning trend in the industry.

The statistics paint a stark picture: 62% of respondents reported feeling undervalued or underpaid, while 45% stated that they had experienced difficulties finding job opportunities. Furthermore, 31% of post-grad degree holders revealed that they were struggling to find employment, indicating a significant gap between supply and demand in the market.

The study also highlights concerns about illegal data gathering, with 71% of respondents expressing worry about the increasing reliance on data-driven decisions. As the industry continues to evolve, it is clear that there is a pressing need for more DS/ML engineers to ensure the integrity and accuracy of these decisions.
